We invite you to Ashland Church
With dynamic preaching, God-glorifying music, and a family-like atmosphere, Ashland is a place you can call home. We offer ministries for people of all ages to connect with each other, go deeper in their relationship with Jesus, and grow in life together. We are a body of imperfect people pursuing a perfect savior.
We are Christ-centered, gospel-focused, and mission-driven to make an impact in our neighborhood.
Here is what we believe at Ashland Church
-
Nature of God
-
We believe there is one true God who eternally exists in three persons- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
-
For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (ESV)
-
-
-
Nature of Man
-
We believe that man and woman were made in the image of God, but have acted in rebellion or passive indifference toward God, called sin. As broken people we are in desperate need for God to save us.
-
...For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 (ESV)
-
-
-
Salvation
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who exists both fully man and fully God, came into the world, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross as a substitute paying for our sin, raised to life on the third day, and is seated on His throne with the Father. Jesus is the only means of being saved.
-
[speaking about Jesus] "...And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12 (ESV)
-
-
-
The Bible
-
We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired word of God that serves as the final written authority for living out the Christian faith.
-
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 (ESV)

-
-
Holy Spirit
-
We believe the Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ. The Holy Spirit dwells in each believer teaching them about and drawing them closer to Christ to help them fulfill the commandments of Christ and sealing them until the day of redemption.
-
But the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26

The Church
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church and that the church is His body. All believers everywhere are His Church. His will for the church is revealed in His word, the Bible, and through the Holy Spirit. God calls us to gather together to worship Him, glorify Christ in our interactions with others, and work together to expand His kingdom.
-
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Romans 12:4-5 (ESV)

Ordinances - Baptism and Communion
-
We believe that believer's baptism is an outward public announcement and devotion to Christ and is not the means by which one is saved. Baptism symbolizes Christ's death and resurrection. Through being fully submerged in water, this shows the death to our old self and rising in new life with Christ. We believe that communion is to remember what Christ has done for us and that the bread symbolizes His body and that the cup symbolizes His blood.
-
Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to Him. 1 Peter 3:21-22 (ESV)
-
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. 1 Corinthians 11:26 (ESV)
